What is Muy Blog?
Muy Blog is the News, Discoveries, Research and Update department of the website The Compleat Eadweard Muybridge.
The website was established in 2007, originally as a detailed chronology of the life and work of the Victorian photographer. It gradually became a general resource for those interested in Muybridge, and for those who have been, and continue to be, influenced by his work. It is maintained by Stephen Herbert, a specialist in optical media history.
Muy Blog is a “spin-off” from the website.

Our not-for-profit education charity, The PeaceJam Foundation (www.peacejam.org), is working on creating a series of educational videos which will be used to share with the thousands of young people who participate in the PeaceJam program. We have 12 Nobel Peace Laureates on our Board including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, The Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, President Oscar Arias, Jody Williams, and Adolfo Perez Esquivel, and we are creating a different video about the culture of each of the 12 Nobel Peace Laureates on our a Board. The PeaceJam Foundation is fifteen years old, and we have been nominated seven times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The first video we are working on is called, ‘Mayan Renaissance’, and we are trying to capture the glory of the Maya culture. We have just had the opportunity to view your work online and we are writing to you today to humbly request that we be given permission to use your media in our educational video. Specifically:
It is our hope that we can truly capture the magnificence of the Maya in this video, and we hope to focus the attention of our students away from the silliness of the 2012 ‘doomsday’ hysteria, and instead to focus their minds on the tremendous accomplishments of the Maya, and what we can learn from them today.
